In My personal assessment of psychological in the unit 3 assignment, I rated myself with a score of 8 and I think I have improved to a score of 9 in this area; In the area of physical, I rated myself a score of 7 and I have dropped to a 5 due to problems with my feet and then surgery, but as I continue to heal I will return to normal physical activity; and in the area of spiritual well-being, I had scored myself a 10 and I am still at a 10 or higher because my spiritual activity is what keeps me going. I have tremendous faith in what I do and what I strive to accomplished and through this course I have gain more knowledge and wisdom to keep me focused and mental and spiritually cleansed. My score has changed in one area lower than I wanted it to be, but it is due to complication of my feet and surgery; but as I stated I will continue to heal my foot and then later add some physical activity again. And in the other two areas my scores haved increased.
I have made some progress in the spiritual and psychological well-being, which have helped my gain a better aspect of my life and my overall health. I have mentally and physically able to help others be spiritually and psychologically fit by encouraging the patients or clients on the proper use of visualization and meditation and also how to be emotionally and mentally fit to live a healthy lifestyle.
I have implemented the activities for my well-being in all three areas and the only area that has not been totally completed is my physical aspect and that is only due to foot problems which lead to surgery. But in all of the other areas I have exercise all the aciivites and will continue to exercise them; such as I wll continue to use the meditation techniques, visualiztion and the subtle mind techniques and I am also going to try the Yogi or the Tai chi.
I have learned a great deal through this course that has helped me tremendously and I will continue to use this knowledge and I will share them with my family, friends and co-workers. The different ways to have a healthy mind/body/spirit through this course has really helped me so much I just can't even imagine myself without having this knowledge of knowing how we as human flourish. The loving-kindness really helped my see things in my life that I didn't know or I just for got about how to be happy and stress free. I have really enjoyed interacting with my fellow classmate through the discussion board, but especially through the Blog, which I thought I would not be able to do completely, but i was afraid because I had not done a blog before, but with the help of my classmate and Professor, I did it and If I must say I did great. I am now able to help others work through their problems or what they think is problems and help them handle them in a more logical and stress free way.

Carolyn,
ReplyDeleteYou go girl!!!! Yes, you learned how to set up a blog and continue to keep it up and running through out our entire class...WOO HOO.
You are such a positive person and I commend you for going through school and had surgery done at the same time. I have no doubt that you will be back on your "feet" in no time with your physical aspect. I like the idea of Tai Chi and Yoga; in fact, I am ordering a yoga DVD from Rodney Yee, and a Tai Chi video to try it out this summer.
Like you, I am excited to share my knowledge that I have gained from this class with my family, friends, and co-workers. While I am on our little break I've picked up a book "Chi Running" and I am excited to read and learn how to run without injury.
I am so glad that Kaplan offered this class to their students. Before this class, I did not know anything about integral health, but now that I know, I too will be sharing it with everyone. Take care of yourself my dear friend and I look forward to "seeing" in my Public Health class.
