Wow, this is a wonderful exercise, my body just wants to totally relax and let go of all the pain I have been going through this week. I really enjoyed this exercise and I will try to incorporate it into my daily routine with my morning bible study time. Oh listening to the ocean made me think that I was in California again; we used to live near the ocean and at night we would open the windows and get the cool breeze that would come in from the ocean; where we used to live you did not need a air condition at night, the cool breeze from the ocean kept the room nice and cool all the time at night.
Meditation has increased my psychological and spiritual wellness, by allowing me to focus on a postive and productive outcome in life. I think now before I react and that helps me to stay with a good attitude and a pleasant spirit. Every morning I meditate on several Bible versus, so that I can keep my spirits uplifted through out the whole day and they bible versus also helps me psychologically by implmenting positive thougths so that I can give off a positive dispositon to our clients so that they may have their spirits and mind in a pleasant mood also. I can apply these practices in my life for greater health and wellness by meditating and cleansing the mind-body and spirits to achieve a positive outcome toward a better and heathier lifestyle.
"One cannot lead another where one has not gone himself". To me this saying means that I can not tell someone to exercise daily to be healthy; if I am not doing it myself. If they look at me and say you don't look like you exercise at all, so what can I say to explain the reason that i don't exercise if I don't have a severe medical problem that prevent me from doing so. So it best to practice what you preach; If I tell someone to read several Bible versus aday, it' okay because I do read several versus through out the day. We as professiona do have an obligation to develop our health psychologically, physically, and spiritually; we have to be ft totally mind-body-spirit in order to address all the needs of ourself and of our patients. I can implement psychological growth by training the mind on positive thoughts through meditation, yoga or tai chi, and spiritually I can also meditate with bible versus, which is my favorite and also meditate on the exercise of the Lovingkindness CD we had several weeks ago, it was great also.

Hi there...
ReplyDeleteAfter listening to the CD, I too felt a relief of pain and suffering. I felt that the 'wise man' took away my pain and filled me with love and happiness. I agree that this CD is a keeper and we should incorporate it into our daily lives.
I agree with you...we must practice what we preach. We have an obligation to our patients that come to us for help to provide them with the best knowledge and practices out there. The only way we will know about the best practices are to incorporate them into our lives and study them. We ask our clients to meditate, we must meditate. We ask them to eat right and exercise daily; we must do the same thing. We would be doing a disservice if we didn't provide our clients with the best knowledge we have from participating in what we believe.
Great Post!
Carter,
ReplyDeleteI am glad that the exercises are actually working for you. I am most especially glad to know that you are able to practice the exercises. I give you props to be finding the time in your busy schedule to actually appky what we are learning into your daily life. Because you can do it i am going to find a way to implement what we are learning into it to my life as well, not just for the grade. Like i told kristin i also agree that one cannot preach about something that one does not believe or know any thing about. =)
